I wanted to give you another possible way to find product to sell in your Yahoo! Store.
It’s still in the experimental phase, but I think it’s worth a shot.
As we speak, Audrey is checking out my concept, and as soon as we have
some concrete information, I’ll follow up…
Now, in the Yahoo! Store Profits book, in the section on “Diversifying
Your Business”, there is a sub-chapter about “Affiliate Programs”.
It occurred to me as I was fixing some typo’s in the book (I know, I know,
I can spell but I can’t type…Sorry) that while there is a large base of
affiliate program managers who offer commission on information and
services, there is also a huge number of Affiliate programs out there that
offer commission on Hard Goods…
These types of Affiliate programs are generally run the same way a
traditional service or information based affiliate program does.
I.e. you refer a customer to the Affiliate Manager’s sales site through a
coded link, and if the customer buys, you get a percentage of the sale…
Okay, my thought was, if these folks can offer commissions on their
products, are they also in a position to be a wholesaler or drop shipper
of these products???
See the opportunity here? Audrey and I are going to try and contact some
of these affiliate managers and see what gives.
But, if you’re itching for another potential product source, go ahead and
give a go on your own…
Most of these Hard Good Affiliate Programs can be contacted via the
internet, so it shouldn’t take too much effort.
I’m going to use http://www.associateprograms.com for my initial research,
then branch out to the other affiliate search engines for some additional
information.
