In our efforts to evaluate the amazing and all too frequently hyperbolic claims of Internet marketers, testimonials have become more and more important. We want to believe, we want to succeed, and that makes us vulnerable. Many of us have been burned by claims never met, by an advertiser's promises made but not kept.
We want a second opinion.
If someone else has sampled the wares, their experience can help us decide whether to invest.
Because it's not only our money that's at risk.
Such investments often also involve our hopes and dreams. Of the many Internet marketing and how-to eBooks I examine in my studies of e-marketing and promotion, I find that a large percentage merit no review at all - except perhaps as cautionary tales of systems and strategies to avoid.
But I've taken the time to write a full-page review of Yahoo! Store Profits, this system by Audrey Kerwood and Andy Jenkins. I've done so because, in my opinion, this particular system is one of the best of its kind.
I read their system in one sitting, completely engrossed by the fluid and humorous style of the writing, surprised and delighted by the manner in which these authors explained complex issues with an honest, sincere, yet street-wise clarity I find lamentably absent in most such presentations.
Do I recommend Yahoo! Store Profits? Yes, I do. If you're looking for a comprehensive step-by-step system to help you succeed online, if you're willing to spend your money on any guide to Internet marketing, I suggest you seriously consider this one.
Rare gems - and this is one of them - are hard to find...

Yahoo-Store-Builder convinced me that I should go into business for myself. I could not have made a better choice. I just started my business a few months ago and actually opened my second store a few weeks ago. It has not been a month yet and my second store will be profitable by October. Online-Store-Builder is not a "get rich quick" plan, because there isn't such a thing. Andy and Audrey have done a wonderful job explaining how to do things right and be legal about it. One of the most serious mistakes that a net marketer can make is depending only on eBay for income. Just wanted to drop a line to tell you that you provide an excellent service through your products and news letters. In the short time since I first purchased your e-book on yahoo stores, I've gone farther than I expected.
Rarely have I received any information from you that I have not further investigated, and in most cases utilized. It was just a couple of months ago that I couldn't spell E-commerce. Now even as a rookie I've found myself within the first couple pages of most search engines by the use of the magic "keywords" I learned from you. Not to mention the returns from research you taught me, and from Google Ad words and Overture. I'm currently working on an excel spread sheet to upload my store data to Froogle, and investigating some "mini-sites" to help drive traffic. You people are the STUFF!

It's kind of funny how I found you guys. I was searching eBay for a turnkey e-commerce web company for sale. At that time I didn't think I could "get it all together" and start my own e-commerce website or company. I was just going to take the easy road and buy something that was already created. I clicked on a few auctions and wasn't impressed at all with what I saw. Somehow, after some auction searching and some Googling, I found your site.
My fist thought was "Yeah right..." There are no real "step by step" systems out there that really work. This is just a pipe dream and anything that was offered here would be worthless. I bought your e-book last July and it took me awhile to decide to take the plunge. I have all my business licenses/Tax ID, etc. And I am now in the process of building my site. I was laid off from my job December 2002 and I have been on unemployment ever since.
I wish I was further along so I could give you a great success story to tell, but I CAN tell you this..........if it wasn't for your e-book, this wouldn't be possible for me. I am so grateful to you for writing such an easy to understand and complete how-to book. You even make it funny along the way. I took a chance and purchased the !Yahoo Store Profits guide and have never regretted that decision. The guide was written in a very easy to understand and conversational manner. It was kind of like asking your neighbor how to open a store and in a very friendly way getting all the information you need. I have owned your Yahoo! Store Profits for a couple of months now. It was the first information based product I had ever bought online and was real worried that I was getting ripped off. As soon as I started reading the material, I knew I had found the information I was looking for on my first try. Since buying your book I have purchased a few other products, and other than the one you recommended in Yahoo! Store Profits , I have asked for a refund on the others. Maybe the other books weren't all that bad, but they sure didn't measure up to what I had come to expect after reading your book.

Whether you are an experienced Internet Store Owner or someone who is just checking it out, Yahoo! Store Profits is a must. It is the best guide I've seen. If you have heard that you can just put up a website, listing your products, and start counting your money you will be in for an education. Yahoo! The separate e-mails on finding an obtaining products, marketing and advertising, the need to focus, how to look into merchant accounts and hosting, and the importance of follow-up and testimonials were all to the point and useful. I purchased Yahoo! Store Profits and can honestly say that the e-book is the most informative one I have read. I love your sense of humor in your writing. I have ordered a few e-books on the topics of starting up an online auction and/or online store business. There is a lot of junk out there, and above that, there are a lot of people selling the junk to consumers and ending the relationship (communication) with the consumer as soon as the transaction is complete (of course, why wouldn't they? They really didn't have anything to offer the consumer to begin with). I have been so pleasantly surprised by your commitment to keeping your clients informed and up-to-date on what is going on in the Yahoo! Store world. I literally get excited when I see that I have another email from you because I know it will contain information that is valuable for my progression in this business.

I wanted to tell you both that Yahoo Store Profits is much more than a 'how to open a Yahoo Store' Guide. It's literally a blueprint for starting your own business. In fact, even if you removed the Yahoo aspect of the book, you would have a complete guide to launching and running ANY web business. It manages to cover everything from dealing with suppliers to getting a merchant account; from running your store to marketing, search engine optimization and more. Yet it achieves all that without being a scary 1000-page tome! I would advise *every* web merchant to get themselves a copy. Yep, even if you don't want a Yahoo store. The content really is *that* good. Hey, and I haven't even touched on their regular newsletters, which have contained brilliant search engine and more.

I was in the technology field for over 20 yrs, and after so many layoffs with different companies I decided this was enough. I like thousands of others decided I needed to do something with my career. My field of study was in the computer engineering and support service arena. So I started to researching about affiliate marketing and came across YSP Yahoo Profits. I signed up for the newsletter and read back issues. I decided if just the service of the free newsletter was a great asset image the book. Before purchasing YSP I researched the Yahoo store and found the help functions that Yahoo set up were not user friendly at all. One of my best assets as been being able to train individuals and provide good documentation, well that is not exactly what the Yahoo Store help functions were set up. So I decided to sign up for the E-book for Yahoo Profits and found that it was well written with illustrations so much so that I decided to let my train my handicapped aunt who desperately needs an income, and when I get to that all that is needed is to provide her with the book. I needed was to keep notes to myself of the tasks that I needed to complete. The rest I could just pass to my aunt who knows hardly anything about computers, but I know that she will understand it fully.
With the additional advise form YSP I researched determined to find manufactures who would drop ship products for me. Well YSP provided me with warnings on what to look for if I wanted to try researching manufactures and they were correct. I fell into one of these traps with a manufacturer who seemed legitimate. I won't go into the problem I can, but I will never do that again. I instead went with what YSP recommended which is Chris Malta Drop Shipment program, and they were correct, this provided me with the manufacturers and contacts to further research my plans for setting up a Yahoo store.
I'm now in the stages of creating my web site and took their advise and signed up with one of the merchant accounts they recommended. With all the contacts I've had their product has helped me develop a new career and with the hopes that I will leave the old one behind, with the grace of God also.

I have been a reader of the newsletter for a very short time but have already benefited from it! We have 2 web sites, www.woodwareandmooreart.com and www.sportsnutz.net, both of which I have authored (I have a 3rd domain name registered, www.fine-art-jymoore.com, but haven't done anything with it yet - time and money you know). The first of the two I created several years ago but we only used it as a catalog for persons who knew our wooden craft items as well as my fine art and wanted visual reminders as to what they wanted to order by phone. The second came about after we developed our own style of displays for collectible sports memorabilia and began selling them containing the photos and cards of well known players/teams/drivers and needed a specialized outlet for them in addition to arts and crafts shows. I am constantly editing and adding to both sites but have just recently added shopping carts and begun attempting the long process of "Search Engine optimization". I'm still not "there" yet but I get additional bits of information with everything I read so I subscribed to your newsletter.
Finally, I am to your newsletters (you just think you're windy). Your newsletter about Google was an extreme relief! As I said, I'm in the process of listing with search engines with all the keywords, etc. That that entails but couldn't find our sites at all and was extremely frustrated - couldn't figure out what I had done wrong - when I got your newsletter! Certainly did make me feel better to know they had problems (although nobody wants to wish problems on someone else)! Like I said, I'm still not "there" (by a long shot) as far as getting our sites up in the ratings but at least I know it's not all me!

Until about three months ago, I thought there was no way I could start an internet business. I'd looked at what seemed like a million so-called "opportunities" that, upon further inspection, turned out to be scams. Then I found Yahoo! There are so many wonderful facets to your product/service, but I'll start with the fact that your friendly, funny style of presentation, along with very solid information and examples helped get me from the idea of a store to actually doing it. You shared successes as well as pitfalls and made it vivid and exciting so I woke up in the mornings ready to get started on my store.
I was also very pleased about getting the additional downloads that helped with both the practical aspects of marketing but also the psychological aspects of creating a successful business.
What also impressed me a lot was that you provide more than just downloaded information. You provide a helping hand in the form of emails--the 7 deadly sins were excellent, by the way--emails that offered support from two very nice people who can laugh at their mistakes while sharing them, and who let you know they really want you to succeed. In other words, the customer, like me, gets a relationship. It's like a living example of the understanding that business is about relationships, not just about profit margins. And this was a revelation to me.

I bought the Yahoo! Store Profits e-book after I built a lot of my Yahoo! Store (I didn't know about the e-book at the time.) It would have been a lot easier if I'd read the book first. Today I still refer to the book, and it sits open on a desk, with sticky notes all over marking certain pages that I need to go over from time to time. My store, kitchendance, is approaching 700 pages - I'm still building, what a bunch of work! - I'd suggest getting it right the first time.
