We've seen a lot of people get hosed by this one. 

 

When folks start a business, they have a tendency to over-compensate for their lack of Business, Product and Marketing knowledge by spending gobs of money on expensive, complicated E-Commerce Hosting Solutions. For those folks, it's easier to get their wallet out than struggle with an unknown.

“Audrey, if you want to have more than 15 items in your store, were going to need to start charging you 50 cent per month per additional product”

 

“Andy, if you want access to our SSL for secure credit card transactions, you can rent it for the low-low price of only $15.00 per month”

 

“Audrey, you should be mailing a newsletter or E-Zine to all of your contacts and customers.  We have this new list manager program, and it’s only $99.00.  It’s fantastic….”

 

 

Don’t take my word for it, go take a look around.  You’ll see a lot of what I’m talking about here – especially where the big, brand named E-Commerce Solutions are concerned.  Still, folks use them because they think that their name means something!

 

I’ll be perfectly honest.

 

Dell, Gateway, Sprint, Earthlink, MSN, have strong reputations in Hardware, Software and Internet Service Providing…. Does it mean that they know JACK about E-Commerce Hosting?

 

NO!!!!!!

 

What do they have to offer you?  What magical incantation can they cast over your e-commerce store front to drive hungry customers to it?  Dell builds great computers, but do you think they make a huge profit by servicing their E-Commerce hosting accounts?

·And Guess what? They ARE a Brand Name.
