Just a tiny bit about Us.

If you’ve clicked this page we want you to see that we are real people.  We’re not going to hide behind anything, we’re going to come right out and tell you who we are.

People always ask us why we do this? (I mean, it’s almost weird how often the question comes up...)

Why do we champion the Work-at-Home Community?

First of all, we believe that people who run home-based businesses lead better lives.  When you work for someone else you tend to get run down, even if you like what you do.  When you’re one or two people running a business that’s yours, you protect it like a child, for the very simple fact that it is yours.

It’s yours, you own it, it’s not just something you do just to get by.  There’s an incredible feeling of pride about owning your own business and a sense of self-worth that you’ll never find working for someone else.

And that pride makes for a good economy.  We believe that.  We always offer good products and provide good service so that our business stays strong.  We do most of our shopping and make all of our major purchases online.

And operating our Home Based Business leaves us more time to get out there and experience all of the other joy that life has to offer.

We have very varied interests.  Andy and I both went to film school.  It’s a tough business but both us managed to break in.  Andy has directed shows like America’s TV Job Network and more commercials than I can count. He also edited a major motion picture called “Killer Instinct’ (available at your local Blockbuster).  He’s worked in the film industry since 1989.

I started in the Film Industry at the bottom of the food chain, despite all of my college education - as a Production Assistant on a movie called “Snipes”.  Shortly after that I worked on another movie called “Emmett’s Mark” starring Scott Wolf and Tim Roth.  After paying my dues, I hit the big time by scoring a position on the movie “Signs” starring Mel Gibson (I’m sure you’ve heard of it). I was one of the accountants and, though I didn’t think I would, I actually got to meet Mel in person.  He’s a really nice guy!  I went on from there to work on the TV show “Hack”.

Film and Television work can be exciting, but make no mistake, it consumes nearly every minute of your life.  You think 12 hour days are unreasonable?  Try working on a music video...If you wrap production in less than 18 hours, it's a gift!  Up at the crack of dawn, home just in time to go to bed...Only the strong survive.

After one shoot in particular, Andy and I decided that it was time to turn up the volume on our own business. It was time to stop living project to project.  It wasn't that we didn't make money in Film, as a matter of fact, the pay scales for folks in our positions are generous.  We just wanted to take the little Home Business that we started and kick it into overdrive!

That's exactly what we did.

We had big plans for a lot of things… we were writing a screenplay together, we’d just moved into a new house and wanted to paint and decorate, we wanted to build a home theater… basically we wanted to spend more time together.

Having a home business affords us the time we had so craved.  Now we can indulge ourselves in our interests.  We built our home theater  (we’re huge movie buffs); Andy just installed the dimmer for the lights this past weekend.

We love gadgets and cool toys.  Andy bought me a bass guitar for my birthday and I actually have the time each day to practice (I’m getting pretty good too).  Andy likes messing around with computers and electronics; he’s working on building a wireless system for our house.

Last month we went to the shore for a few weeks.  We brought a computer with us and spent an hour each day checking up on our business, the rest of the time was ours.

These are things we never could have done if we hadn’t broken out of the mold and said, “Lets go for it!”  It was the best decision of our lives.  It’s given us freedom and there is nothing better than that.

Yeah, we're real people.  Warts, Dreams, Quirky Humor and all.

Now that we work at home, we have even more time to be weird.

By the way, we just finished that screenplay…
